Medium Roast

Brazil // Serra da Canastra

This one is the steady friend. The reliable one. The “text me when you get home” roast.

Grown in Brazil’s Serra da Canastra region, this coffee is all about balance. Humble, smooth, sweet, and deeply comforting.

Dry fragrance? Bittersweet cocoa and candied peanut, with caramel quietly in the background. Nothing sharp. Nothing wild. Just warm and familiar.

In the cup, it’s rounded and cozy. Hazelnut syrup, caramel, roasted candied nuts. Moderate sweetness, mellow body, and just a tiny flicker of acidity almost like herbal tea to keep it from feeling heavy.

Roasted to a true medium, this is your daily driver. It works half-awake. It works black. It works with cream. It works when you don’t want to think too hard about your coffee but still want it to taste good.

I did not mention this before, but this roast is stellar for espresso shots ( I speak from experience *wink* )

It’s not trying to reinvent your morning.
It’s just trying to make it better.

About the Processing & Sourcing

Coffee isn’t a side project for the Turati family. It’s the family business in the real sense of the word.

After years of working on other people’s farms, José Turati decided it was time to build something of his own. That something became Novo Horizonte, their farm in Serra da Canastra, South Minas sitting around 1,100 meters above sea level near a national park. Not a bad office view.

Now the operation is led by Luis Otavio Turati, with a strong focus on careful cherry selection and tight quality control. No shortcuts. No “good enough.” If it doesn’t meet the mark, it doesn’t make the cut.

This particular lot is Yellow Catuaí, naturally processed. The cherries are dried whole on cement patios for more than three weeks, soaking up sun and developing that rich, rounded sweetness before ever leaving the farm.

So while this coffee drinks easy, the work behind it isn’t casual. It’s generational. Built from the ground up. Literally.
